Instead of simply discarding the tails from our gin production, as is usually done, we give them a second chance. We refine them with carefully selected essential oils and transform them into something entirely new. From something that would normally be thrown away, a new product with character is born. Thoughtfully sustainable. Creatively crafted.

UPCYCLING

The tails from our gin production still contain a wealth of flavors and delicate aromatic notes from our gin, and we continue to make use of them. Refined with carefully selected essential oils, they become our new room spray: with woody and fresh citrus notes that evoke a walk through the forest.

Both our gin and the Forêt room fragrance are 100% produced in Zurich.

From distillation to the finished scent, everything is created here, with care, craftsmanship, and attention to detail. Locally conceived, locally made.

Forêt – Parfum d'Ambiance

The tails of our distillation are packed with many aromatic and fragrant components. While this fraction may not fit into a clean, crisp distillate flavor-wise, it is ideal as a base for fragrance compositions. For the room scent, the tails are refined with purely natural essential oils, transforming them into a standalone product.

Thus, Forêt is born, a fragrance that not only smells wonderful but also tells a story: upcycling straight from our own distillery.

In Deux Frères gin production, the tails account for about 5 percent of the total distillate. With several thousand bottles produced each month, that adds up quickly. And because we didn’t want to simply discard this portion, we looked for a solution. This led us to reimagine our gin production and inspired the idea to create a room fragrance, consciously avoiding the waste of the tails.

For us, this is what innovation truly means: rethinking resources, using them creatively, and turning them into something entirely new. As part of the SBB Werkstätte in Zurich, we also strive to produce as little waste as possible and aim to be as sustainable as we can in a world full of excess. Once again, we took a step in the right direction and redefined Deux Frères, not just as a producer of flavour, but now also as a creator of scent. Or simply put: Creating Memories.
